Group Study Exchange

The Group Study Exchange (GSE) programme of The Rotary Foundation is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 and in the early years of their professional lives. The programme is open to non-Rotarians who are not directly related to a Rotarian (i.e. neither the daughter or son, nor the grand-daughter or grandson of a Rotarian).

Under the leadership of an experienced Rotarian, a GSE team will visit a different country for a period of, typically, four weeks. The team members experience the host country's institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas. Local Rotarians in the host country provide for meals, lodging, and group travel within their district.

The programme provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits between paired Rotary districts in different countries. Round-trip air tickets between the home and host countries are provided by The Rotary Foundation. A team usually comprises the Team Leader and four others and when necessary language training is provided in advance of departure.

In recent years GSE Teams from this Rotary District have visited Japan, The Netherlands, USA, New Zealand and Argentina. In 2008 a team will visit Texas.

If you are interested in participating in GSE programme then please contact us.
